Things to Do on a Hood River Christmas Vacation

Once the snow starts falling, Hood River is a winter wonderland. From classic winter activities to seasonal festivities, there’s no shortage of things to do that’ll get you into the holiday spirit.

• Go for a ride to Christmas Town with Mt. Hood Railroad. The 75-mile ride from the historic Hood River depot is on a train decked out in holiday decorations and serving up hot chocolate and cookies. Santa might even make an appearance on the return trip.
• The Hood River Fruit Loop is a must-drive any time of year, even in winter. The scenic drive trades fruit stands for Christmas tree lots, dazzling light displays, and even the occasional Santa sighting.
• Enjoy the Downtown Hood River Holiday Stroll. Our historic downtown gets wrapped in twinkling lights and is the site of a tree-lighting ceremony, holiday parade, and caroling.

The fun doesn’t stop with seasonal offerings. There are plenty of quintessential winter adventures you can enjoy between all the holiday happenings.

• Go skiing or snowboarding at Mt. Hood Meadows.
• Feel the rush of flying down snowtubing hills at Cooper Spur Mountain Resort.
• Explore snowy cross-country ski trails at Pocket Creek Sno-Park or Teacup Nordic Area.
